Ever since I started this blog people have been asking me for a method to print foil proxies. The transparency method has been around for a long time, but I never felt comfortable recommending it because it didn’t live up the quality that I wanted.
After brainstorming with one of my readers I finally came up with a method that does not use transparencies.

(Yes I misspelled Legendary but I’m too lazy to make another video)

Check it out!

  1. How do you get your cards to go through the printer smoothly? It always seems to jam on me where the card meets the paper.

  4. When I mix the digital ground with the medium is becomes very bubbly and doesn't apply smooth. Can I apply the medium and then the ground on top and still get the partial foil effect with the gloss varnish?

  5. Im not sure that would work since the ground is kinda shiny, but you can try it.
I find that if my application is too thin it leaves streaks. If i glob it on then it dries smoother since the water is displaved evenly by gravity.
Keep in mind that youll always have slight streaking until the final coat of varnish. After i apply the final coat my cards are always perfectly smooth. Just takes a bit of practice and trial and error!
